GlynnPeace to CELEBRATE American deaths early

I have been kind and I have bent over backwards trying to be fair, only to have members of GlynnPeace LIE to me. Now, they have gone too far. Thank you Kelly for bringing this to my attention.

Wednesday, the group will pull a new publicity stunt on behalf of Rev. Nelson. Their plan is to ring a bell for each of the American soldiers they hope will die before President Bush leaves office. In other words, "We can't wait for them to die so let's celebrate now!"

The number they are shooting for is 2030. This is disgusting.

When this group first appeared, I referred to them as "Nelson's minions" because I was convinced they were doing this as a way they thought would help get the little fella elected. They e-mailed and posted that this was not the case and that they were non-partisan. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt even though their own site listed as an "idea for action" to "work for the election of Jim Nelson."

But, as soon as our backs turned, what did they do? They endorsed Jim Nelson! It is simple, they lied!

Now they will try to say, "Well we didn't endorse him then." Nice try. Your words have no integrity and your actions are reprehensible.

By the way, if GlynnPeace wants to prove this is not a political publicity stunt on behalf of Nelson, why don't they postpone it for a week?

These scumbags have even worked out a sick proposal for the celebration.

I'm sure I'm shouting into a hurricane here, but I feel the need to stand up for GlynnPeace. Today's action was intended to call attention to the widely accepted estimates of future American military deaths if our troops stay in Iraq. GlynnPeace is trying to make real the idea that these deaths are preventable, that we as Americans have the power to effect change. Nothing can be done to bring back those that have already lost their lives in this bloody conflict, but it is not too late to bring our men and women home. It's time to change course.

Couldn't they have done that next week?
Wednesday's celebration was nothing more than political grandstanding.

I take great offense at your choice of words -- "celebrate" ! Did you read this in any of our literature ? No.

This event(not a stunt)was a "pre-memorial to MOURN the future victims..."
Your comment "We can't wait for them to die so let's celebrate now" is outrageous and inflammatory. And, it seems you missed the point entirely. It was about our soldiers, NOT Kingston or Nelson.

Since you posted our Proposal, you know that we used statistical data to come to this MINIMUM number.

"Scumbags"? "Sick proposal"?

Oh, please.

Chill.

Thank you for the post Cathy, but you aren't fooling us anymore.

If it wasn't about Kingston or Nelson, why did you do it less than a week before the election in front of Kingston's office?

By that reasoning, you could have done it at Mary Ross Park a month from now. Or if you wanted people to see it, do it at the mall.

GlynnPeace became a political arm of the Nelson campaign the minute you endorsed him. By the way, isn't it funny that he accepted your resolution for immediate withdrawl and then the minute your back was turned, he announced that he did not want immediate withdrawl at a forum in Valdosta?

We are not trying to "fool" you.

So, a democrat who happens to be Nelson endorses our Resolution. Then we vote to endorse him, a democrat. Then he waffles. What else is new !

In case you haven't been watching the tube this is going on all over America from MoveOn.org to others. Millions of phone calls have been made to progressive voters to remind them to vote !

So, yes you noticed !

So do you possibly get the connection to a HOT American election and why we were out there on Nov. 1?

It's all about getting out the vote, hopefully democratic because we have to "hope" it's our best chance not only for the soldiers and Iraqis civilians, but humanity and the future we are dealt.

You disagree. So be it. But you still did not address your inflammatory language. Do you really think that's necessary?

It is simple, GlynnPeace lied to me. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Any organization that tells outright lies to cover its true intent is not worthy of my respect.

Celebrating the possible future death of anyone for political gain is sick, in my opinion.

And when it is the possible deaths of U.S. troops then, also in my opinion, those doing it are scumbags.

Sure, let's pull out now. And then we can watch planes fly into buildings and have terrorist attacks on American soil. Then the ACLU can defend them for having the right to express their personal beliefs by killing people.

Either way you see it, the event Wednesday was to ring a bell for each soldier who may possibly die in the next 2+ years. To me, that is repugnant regardless of your intent.

As Americans, those troops have shed blood for your right to have that opinion. But I am also an American and I reserve my right to have my opinion and to express it!

I did not lie to you. And, can you tell me where GlynnPeace lied to you?

Both my father and brother were in the Corps. I understand the passion, but not your obsession with your inflammatory words. I know you are mad.

But can't you see it was not a CELEBRATION, rather we were pointing out that MORE WILL DIE and we were mourning this fact?

The troops in Iraq don't have a damn to do with the 1st Amendment. We already have that right (sorta, sometimes).

I turned 60 yesterday, tho not a vet, I am old enough to see the damage.

I guess all you and I can do now is agree to disagree.
